Here are the main values of the '60s. Martin Luther King Jr. was very famous for his big speech in the '60s, it was about the Civil Rights Movement and more in America. He made a life-changing speech to everyone. Martin Luther King Jr. aimed to increase public understanding of racism in the United States in order to end racial discrimination and segregation. King changed the world by standing up to show the world that blacks are as equal to whites. He showed America that everything was possible and was very famous for the huge impact he created in America. In 1963, King gave his "I have a dream" speech. This speech was very famous for what he tried to stand up for like, jobs, freedom, civil and economic rights. Sadly, he was assassinated by a firearm in 1968 which was a couple of years after his speech. Also, the Women's March took place in the 1960s. This march was a day women would never forget. This march was to show how women are shown as equals and 250,000 people were marching on those days. This march took place in Washington DC but this march encouraged people and it spread out throughout America. This march inspired women. The point of the Women's March to show political power and show social change. Therefore, these are the main events that happened in the '60s.
