World Events


'60s World Events
There were main world events in the '60s. There was the Vietnam War, Cuban Missile Crisis, the assassination President Kenndey and finally the first person on the moon, Neil Armstrong. The Vietnam War was between North Vietnam and they were by supported the Soviet Union, China, and North Korea and South Vietnam were supported by the United States, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, and the Philippines. The war was caused by first North Vietnam becoming a communist and the United Staes their communism would spread to South Vietnam and Asia. The United States sent money, military, and supplies to the South Vietnam Government. This caused the war. The Cuban Missile Crisis was an important part because the Soviet Unions first began building missiles in Cuba and the missiles would help the war against the Cold war between the Soviet Union and the United States. The Cold War was almost known as the nuclear war because of the explosion. Another main world event was the assassination of President Kennedy. Kenedy was the 35th president of the United Stae. He was killed from three gunshot wounds. He was killed by Lee Harvey Oslawd. The final very important world event was the first person on the moon. That was Neil Armstrong. Neil was accepted from Nasa in the '60s. Soon he was selected to be on the Apollo 11 (mission to the moon) and from there, he was sent to the moon and returned safely. Therefore, those are the main events from the '60s.
